  • Student of Dorus at the Paris conservatory

  • In the same year employment in the Opera Orchestra in Paris .
  • 1862 first award for harmony
  • 1865 first award for counter point and fugue
  • 1864-1896 solo flutist at the Paris Opera
  • 1867-1890 member of the conservatory orchestra
  • 1872 co-foander of the "Sociètè Classique"
  • 1887 conductor at the Grand Opera, Paris
  • 1889 knight of the Legion of Honor
  • 1890-1906 conductor at the Paris Opera
  • 1893-1908 professor for flute at the conservatory
  • Since 1897 head of the orchestra class at the conservatory
  • 1901 physical breakdown
  • He received the following distinctions: Polar star medal (Sweden), Crown medal (Italy), St. Annen medal (Russia), Medal of the Lion and the Sun (Persia)
  • Fauré dedicated his Fantasie to him.
  • Died on the 22nd (or 21st?) of november 1908 in Paris
